MEGAFORMER The innovative Megaformer™/Lagree Fitness® workout is specifically designed to strengthen, lengthen, and tone the body quickly and safely. This workout is largely based on the holistic principles of Pilates, but also emphasizes the strength training and cardio elements not inherent to Pilates to achieve muscle definition faster than traditional Pilates and/or weight training alone…all in as little as 50 minutes.
By incorporating the key principles of core stability and blending them with the fusion of muscle dynamics, Sebastien Lagree has created “the next evolution in physical fitness.” This workout integrates the key elements of resistance and counter-resistance using a system of springs and pulleys in a sequence that allows for periods of zero gravity at peak muscle contraction. The composition of this method is significant in that it encourages maximum exertion while allowing for low risk of injury. The Lagree Fitness® workout strengthens the body, tones and elongates the muscles, improves endurance, jump-starts the metabolism, burns fat, increases flexibility and postural alignment, and restores the body’s natural balance.
At the core of the Lagree Fitness® training method is the Megaformer™, which represents a significant evolution of the traditional Pilates reformer. The state of the art Megaformers™ provide constant resistance and infinitely more exercise options than a traditional reformer; it allows the body to shift quickly and smoothly from one exercise to another to maintain increased heart rate and get the blood pumping. All muscle groups, from big to small, are strengthened in a non-aggressive, non-impact manner making this workout as good for your muscles as it is for your joints. Your spine stays protected, your mind engaged, and your body pushed to its limits. Under the guidance of your certified instructor, it’s one of the safest ways to strengthen your muscles while reducing stress on the joints and connective tissues.
There’s nothing out there quite like it, and the incredible results prove it! The heart-pumping, muscle aching, total body workout is tough, but fun. |

Amanda Freeman (CEO and Devotee) – Amanda is thrilled to be able to offer fellow NYers her two favorite LA workouts – SLT and SLT Yoga. After hearing her friends in LA rave about the effectiveness of the unique pilates meets cardio meets strength training workout, fitness-enthusiast Amanda had to try it for herself. One class and she was hooked and found herself planning her West Coast trips around her workouts. Tired of having to fly across the country to get her fix, she decided New Yorkers needed a studio of their own and she opened SLT.
It took Amanda and her Type A personality a bit of time and lots of experimenting to finally love yoga. Until trying a class at LA’s Maha Yoga, she didn’t think yoga was for her. But, once she heard the music, felt the vibe and started flowing, she was convinced…she could be a yogi after all. SLT Yoga is inspired by her favorite LA yoga studios – Maha Yoga and Yoga Hop.
Amanda was also the Co-Founder and CEO of Vital Juice, the leading healthy living e-newsletter publication. Amanda has a BA from Duke and an MBA from Harvard Business School. |
